Who Wrote the Book of John in the Bible

Whoever wrote the book appeared to have wanted to remain anonymous, because the only reference he gave to himself was “disciple whom Jesus loved.”  This could have been John the Apostle or, quite possibly, someone pretending to be.  There are a number of reasons this person could have chosen to remain anonymous.  One factor may have been fear of prosecution from the local population and government.  The Roman empire wasn’t particularly kind to early Christians until hundreds of years later.  There was also a growing tension with the Jewish population as well.

The date that it was written was thought to be around 100 AD.  It is thought that the text went through a couple revisions, so the “rough draft” was probably put together years earlier.  It was discovered in a Jewish Christian community during a time when Jewish Christians were breaking away from synagogues.  Due to the timing of its release the Gospel of John portrayed a large resentment toward “the Jews.”  Jerome H. Neyrey is a New Testament scholar that thinks that this statement is not necessarily intended to be Anti-Semitic.  Most likely “the Jews” was in reference to the traditional Jews at the time who did not acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_2″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]

Recent Challenges as to Who Wrote the Book of John

There is also a hypothesis that the Gospel of John and other books referencing “John” could have been written by more than one person.  This collection of five works in the Bible is commonly referred to as the Johannine literature.  Recently there has been a growing consensus whether John the Apostle actually wrote the Gospel of John or any of the other books.  Some scholars still defend the idea that John the Apostle wrote, at least, the Gospel of John.  Either way it tells a very important story that is core to our Christian belief.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

How is God Our Father

He gave us life.  He fathered creation.  He watches over us everyday.  He protects us from harm.  He’s also been given this title because of his participation in human affairs.  God is an all knowing, all powerful being that doesn’t observe, but is a force who is present in our daily lives.  He is the perfect father.  Anything that He allows to happen is there to help us learn to make us stronger.  This is to benefit our time on earth.  We need to be strong with all the terrible things that exist in our world.  Whether you live in one part of the earth or the other, there are challenges.

Even though a father is masculine, God is usually regarded as not having a biological gender.  The Catholic Church’s view is “God is neither man nor woman: he is God.”  The masculine term used may have something to do with the patriarchal structure of religions and many societies.  One could even say the term “mother” would fit considering God is a life-giver and “gave birth” to creation.  I’m sure there are some who would radically disagree with that statement though.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”no” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Why are There so Many Different Christian Denominations?

This is a question that’s pretty straight forward, but also exceptionally complicated.  The short version of this answer is different interpretations of the Bible and the authority of the early Church.

The third ecumenical council, the Council of Ephesus, was the first meeting that lead to a split in the Catholic Church.  The big issue was the leader of the Church of the East, Nestorius, referred to Mary as the “Birth Giver of Christ” instead of the “Birth Giver of God.”  In response to his claims the council denounced him and called him a heretic.  This gave birth to the Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East.  To some this belief might not be a big deal, but this is a core belief among Roman Catholics.  This was the first major split in the Roman Catholic Church.

Later on there will be many more divisions resulting from disagreements with interpretation and certain abuses of the  Church.  Some of these individuals probably broke away for legitimate reasons and others, maybe not so much.  People have always had an interest in power, and I’m sure a few of these people were no different.  They may have seen the power and wealth that the Catholic Church had accumulated and wanted their own.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Great Schism of 1054

The most known division though would probably be the Great Schism of 1054, which resulted in Eastern Orthodoxy.  The dominate reasons were the disagreement of the Eucharist, whether the Pope should have universal jurisdiction, and the source of the Holy Spirit and a plethora of other factors.  There were disagreements for years, but

Other Divisions in Christianity

Be aware that splits have not always had to just do with the Catholic Church.  In the mid-1700s, there was a movement in Protestantism.  This was referred to as the [/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

A miracle prayer that works instantly?

[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_text]

A Miracle Prayer that Works Instantly

A miracle is something special.  It is a gift bestowed upon someone from God.  The dictionary defines a miracle as an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.  To say that a single prayer will grant a miracle, I think, is a bit selfish.  It is an incredible event granted by God to either an individual or group that is awesome and is not something that is a common occurrence.  The Bible has quite a few occurrences of miracles, but they were either an enacted by God or spiritually powerful people.  God, Jesus, and Moses created some monumental miracles such as creation, raising the dead, and parting the Red Sea, respectively.  Creating a world, with life outside his own, is an incredibly selfless act.  To give life where there was none.  When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He wanted nothing but to see his friend get up and walk the earth once more and to show the world the glory of God.  Moses needed to save his people and was able to therefore part a sea that is up to 7,254 feet.  These are some incredible events.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]Now please, don’t take this the wrong way.  It would be wonderful if we could all experience miracles, to not only get someone out of an unpleasant situation, but also to reaffirm our faith in God.  It is difficult to experience death or to see those in a massive amount of pain.  Many people experience anger during this time either at themselves or at God.  Sometimes these events may test us or our family and friends in our faith.  Many times the end result is not something that we want to go through.  You have to remember that God sees the big picture.  I’m sure one day, either in this life or the next, we will understand why events happened the way do.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Still Pray

Even though it may not result in a miracle, you still need to pray.  We all need to talk to God whether he is going to fulfill your request or not.  He is the beginning and the end and all that happens; happens because of Him.  God will do what He sees fit.  Also to say your prayers couldn’t lead to a miracle would be incorrect as well.  He may just hear your plea, and do exactly what you prayed for.  Maybe that’s exactly what he is waiting for.  He’s always worked in mysterious ways, and he may just give you exactly what you want.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Does God Hear Me?

Of course He does.  I know that it may seem like He doesn’t sometimes, but I can assure you He does.  To be entirely honest, He probably knows you’ll be speaking before you even do.  This could be referred to as predestination which is an interesting subject, and it is heavily debated among Christian denominations.  The argument is that if God is omnipotent then he would know what decisions you will make throughout your life, and the outcome of your life is already known.  Anyways, this will be a post for another time where I will present both points and counterpoints.  I should do my best to stay on topic.

And remember, just because things don’t go the way you want them to doesn’t mean that He doesn’t hear or care for you.

There is no right or wrong way to pray.  When you are talking to God, He is listening.  Whether it’s internal thought, speaking out-loud, or whispering with your hands folded, God knows that you are speaking to him.  You need to keep this line of communication open.

The site has plenty of prayers ranging from anywhere from helping to deal with depression to family and friends.  I hope you find something, and hopefully one of them will lead to a miracle.  I know life can be tough, but I know with God’s guidance, you’ll pull through.  :)[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”no” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]

Who was John Mark in the Bible?

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Who was John Mark in the Bible

He is mentioned as the assistant or mentor to Peter as well as his interpreter.  John Mark is more commonly referred to as Mark the Evangelist.  He would have been the one who was documenting accounts of Jesus through Peter.  This is why the Gospel of Mark is thought by some to have been the earliest written accounts of Jesus’s teachings.  He is also responsible for the creation of the church of Africa, and became the bishop of Alexandria in 42AD.  Through the establishment of Christianity in Alexandria, it was able to spread through all of Egypt.

John Mark is also thought to be the cousin of Barnabas.  There are a few scholars though that now think that this might not be the case.  The first person to mention this idea was Hippolytus of Rome.  He thought that Mark, the cousin of Barnabas and Mark the Evangelist were two different people.  There is always going to be some disagreement with who most of the characters in the Bible were.  It isn’t as if there is a biography of each person mentioned attached to the Book.  This is unfortunate for those who really want to know.  Remember the messages are the important part, not who wrote them.  We should at least all be on a consensus with that.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Feast Day of John Mark and Mark the Evangelist

This is actually a bit confusing.  Even though early Christians thought of them as the same person, there are two different feast days.  The feast day of John Mark is treated as the 27th of September.  He is venerated in both the Roman and Eastern Catholic Churches.  Mark the Evangelist’s feast day is the 25th of April and is venerated in all Christian churches.  This is because of the nature of Roman Martyrology of Saint John Mark and Mark, the writer of the Gospel.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”no” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]

Best Places to Donate My Car to Charity for a Tax Deduction

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Best Places to Donate My Car to Charity

UNICEF Children First – This fund is used to provide aid for children all over the world.  They use about 90% of all donations for their mission.  Their current main focus is Iraq and Syria.  Along with these two war-torn nations they also provide funds for combating Ebola, HIV/AIDS, and malaria.  Actually 40% of all immunizations given were funded by the UNICEF.  They are attempting to make the third world safer for children by providing education and resources to combat child trafficking.  Children charities are always great to support.  Helping the youth of a nation not only alleviates hunger and illiteracy, but it also helps shape the future of that nation.  I would consider Children First to be one of the best charities for children.  Caryl M. Stern, President, compensation is a bit high at $521,000 though.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]Feed the Children – This charity is ranked a bit lower than the UNICEF due to their negative growth year-over-year.  Their primary focus is fighting child hunger.  This includes clean water which isn’t available to 783 million people worldwide according to the World Health Organization.  These are some startling numbers.  Look at how far we’ve come as a nation and as a people, and we still have this far to go.  The money given to Feed the Children goes toward building wells, pipes, and filtration systems.  Kevin Hagan, the president and CEO, compensation is about $350,000 which is actually not to far out of the box for an organization this large.  This may see high to some but the total overhead expenses come in at under 3% which is very good.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Days End Farm Horse Rescue – This is for the animal lovers out there.  They provide shelter and adoption of horses who are either mistreated or abandon.  I’m sure many of your are confused on why PETA, ASPCA, or Animal Rescue Inc aren’t my first choices.  The reason why I went with Days End is because they have great transparency, and they are seeing good growth.  The CEO receives $65,000 annually which might seem like very little, but it is a rather large portion of annual revenue.  Despite the administrative overhead being a bit high, their fundraising expenses are extremely low, which makes up for the high percentage of executive overhead.  I’m going to assume that the reason they are able to keep fundraising expenses so low is because they spend virtually nothing on advertising.  I actually didn’t know anything about them until recently.

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

Fisher House Foundation – This is a top notch military not for profit.  The Fisher House provides military families housing close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease, or injury.  They exhibit great transparency and their financials are in order.  They have about a 6% administrative and 2.5% fundraising expenses compared to revenue.  According to their website, they have served over 277,000 families which accounts for 6 million total days of lodging.  They currently have seventy houses in operation across the United States.  David A. Coker, President, brings in about $500,000 in annual compensation.

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

AMVETS National Service Foundation – This is for those who want to help out those who fought for America.  It seems that fundraising costs run a bit high in the military non profit sector, so 16% shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise.  Then again, this is still much better than a lot of charities out there.  They have also been growing very rapidly which is always a good sign.  The new president is being compensated at a much less rate than the prior CEO at approximately $166,000.  It’s always good to see someone step in and take less than the person that preceded them.  If you are going to give your car to a military non profit, AMVETS wouldn’t be a bad idea.

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]Make-A-Wish Foundation – This non profit is focused on granting a wish for a child suffering from a life threatening health condition.  This charity is kind of a mix of good and average in regards to financial responsibility and fund raising costs.  Depending on what state your reside in depends on whether you want to donate your vehicle or not.  The reason I did include them is because they are a very large and well respected organization.  Plus I’ve always had a soft spot for children who goes through these terrible health problems.  It’s such a tragedy.  I would recommend using charity navigator or a similar site before donating.  The site is very handy, and it is where I’ve gotten some of my information.  If I ever do state specific posts, I’m sure quite a few chapters will wind up on the A list.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]If you are having difficulty selling your vehicle or if you just want it gone, this is a great way of going about it.  Some charities will even pick up your vehicle and tow it away for you.  Donating a vehicle allows you to potentially get a tax deduction, and you help out a charity of your choice.

Most of these statistics were taken from the 2014 fiscal year.  Charities can change at any moment due to changes in the board, executives, and strategy.  Please do your due diligence before donating anything.  Also, always contact a tax professional regarding matters of tax deductions.  Don’t make a mistake and lose out, because you did something incorrectly.  If you have any suggestions or questions, feel free to ask.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

Catholic Relief Services – An absolutely incredible 501(c)3 organization that assists in funding climate change, war-torn countries, and areas struck by natural disasters.  In 2015, a monstrous 93% of money raised went to their charitable programs.  This is an exceptionally high number.  Also, any amount given is tax deductible up to the extent allowable by law.  According to their 2014 990 filing, they sent money to seven different regions which includes Central, Southern, East, and West Africa, Latin America & Caribbean, Europe to Central Asia, and East & Southeast Asia.  The large majority of money spent was in Africa accounting for about 63% of total expenditures and investments in the region.  They are also the overseas arm of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.  Catholic Relief Services’s current project now to use $50 million over the next five years towards assisting those in the Gaza strip.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]Cross Catholic Outreach – Another great 501(c)3 organization where over 90% of money raised is going towards their mission.  With only about 5% of costs going to maintaining the organization, this is another great organization to place your hard earned money in.  All of the charity’s executives make less than $170,000 which is reasonable for an organization this large.  Their mission statement is “Delivering food, shelter, and hope to the poorest of the poor.”  In 2014, 267 projects were funded expanding across 36 different countries.  Some of the current projects include establishing a better means for education in Ethiopia and Belize, and the assisting of orphans in regions of Africa due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

What Nationality and Race is Jesus Christ?

Personally, I don’t think it matters much, but it’s a question that comes up quite often.  First off, He is the Son of God and transcends any and all nationality or race.  For some people, this isn’t good enough.  I figured I would attempt to give a non-bias approach to the race and nationality of Jesus Christ, and I’ll try to keep it as historical as possible for those who weren’t happy with the answer above.

What race was Jesus Christ?

This is an extremely difficult question to answer because there was no description of Jesus in the Bible.  The only information that was mentioned is that Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary.  Mary is thought to be of Jewish descent.  This would make Jesus, Jewish.  It can be easily assumed that He was Jewish due to the nature of the area he was born and raised.  He frequented synagogues throughout His life and participated in Jewish holidays.  One would think that there would have been some mention in the Gospels if he wasn’t a Jew.  This is why the commonly accepted race of Jesus was Jewish.

Another widely accepted possibility is that Jesus was Middle Eastern in appearance.  Almost all religious scholars believe this is also a possibility due the demographics of that area at that time.  Please be aware that this was 2000 years ago.  The Middle East at that time was probably a very different place.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_2″ layout=”1_2″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding_top=”” padding_right=”” padding_bottom=”” padding_left=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=”” min_height=””][fusion_text]

What Nationality is Jesus Christ?

Mary and Joseph were from the town of Nazareth which is a city that resided in lower Galilee (present day Israel).  He would have been Galilean.  This is very straightforward.  He was referred to as Jesus of Nazareth.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

The Appearance of Jesus

Jesus would have more than likely been of darker skin color due to his nationality.  It is thought He would have had more of an olive complexion as opposed to the depictions of him during later Christian art.  More than likely the pale skin and flowing brown to blonde hair is unlikely.  This was more than likely due to the artists wanting Jesus to be more familiar to those viewing the art.  It is also very unlikely that he would have had long flowing hair.  It was very common for male Galilean citizens at that time to have short hair.  It was even mentioned in an epistle from Paul to the Corinthians that long hair is considered disgraceful.  It’s very unlikely that this would have been said by Paul if Jesus had long hair.

There has been countless times in history where the appearance, nationality, or race has been challenged.  I think a lot of it has to do with ill conceived thoughts and ideas.  People probably wish to change his race, nationality, or appearance to fit more with someone they can relate to in regards to physical appearance.  What everyone needs to realize is that it doesn’t matter what He looked like.  It doesn’t matter where He was from.  It doesn’t matter what race or nationality He was.  The only thing that matters is Jesus gave up everything for us.  He taught us to love and forgive each other.  He wants us to remember that everything we have is owed to God.  This is the important part of the story.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

How to Forgive Someone Who Has Hurt You Emotionally

[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_text]

How to Forgive Someone Who Has Hurt You Emotionally

Well… we all know how incredibly difficult this could be.  It isn’t easy.  In fact, it can feel impossible.  Please don’t run for the ‘X’ at the top right of the screen, but bear with me.  I know this is not the best way to start off, but I want to reiterate how challenging this can be.  I’ve forgiven a lot of people, and a lot of people have forgiven me.  Jesus taught us to forgive, and most of us should know this by now.  He is a prime example of what all of us should be.  Even outside of that though, it’s healthy.  How do you feel right now?  Angry?  Depressed?  Frustrated?  Of course.  It’s not doing any good for anyone.  You’re creating a tense situation for both yourself and the people around you.  I know a few people out there can keep everything separate and in check, but I think a majority of the people out there will probably involve someone in a negative way who doesn’t deserve it.  I think most who have been under a tremendous amount of stress can relate to this, and may have yelled at a loved one or said something they didn’t mean.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]You need to remove yourself from the situation, analyze yourself, and realize that you are far from perfect.  We all are.  I bring this up because plenty of people have forgiven you.  I’m sure of it.  Now it’s time for you to forgive someone.  I guarantee that if it doesn’t feel great at first, it will.  Sometimes it can take quite a long time for an emotional wound to heal.  The same goes for any type of physical injury.  The quicker you forgive, the quicker you can heal.

As I mentioned earlier, Jesus is a prime example of what you should be.  He taught us to treat others as you want to be treated.  Don’t you want to be forgiven as well?  This is a prime example of the golden rule.  If you want to be forgiven, forgive.  He knows we are imperfect, but He loves us anyways.  How many times has He forgiven us?  Countless.  It’s a number that some of the most brilliant minds probably couldn’t fathom.  Jesus has forgiven you, and now it’s time to forgive this person.

Lets say this person betrayed you in one way or another.  Trusting him or her at this point would be a bit foolish.  Lift that burden of anger and hatred and forgive them.  Just remember what they did, that you forgave them, and move on from there.  Also, try not to put that person in a position for them to do something like that again.  Sadly, some people can’t help but do selfish, inconsiderate acts.  Regardless, we are all brothers and sisters and that person still needs to be loved.  You know what they are capable of, so keep that in mind if a similar situation leading to this outcome arises.  Hopefully, one day, that person will learn the error of their ways if this experience hasn’t shown them.

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: [Luke 6:37]  The Bible can be cryptic at times, but I don’t think anything could be more forward.  There is way to much at stake to hold a grudge against someone. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. [Matthew 6:15]  This is something we need to remember above all else.  Above all, you should be doing this for God.  He wants you to forgive.[/fusion_text][fusion_text]

[/fusion_text][fusion_text]Forgiveness is going to be a recurring theme because, as a Christian, I think it is one of the most important virtues to have.  This is coming from someone who has held grudges for a very, very long time.  The reason I wanted to mention this is forgiveness is great, but sometimes the results aren’t exactly what you hoped.  Yes, the emotional wound will heal, but there are usually additional results which can be either good or bad.  One individual I’ve forgiven in the past I was hoping to create a friendship with.  The person made a mistake and I acknowledged it and forgave, but way too late.  I waited and waited.  It was a terrible mistake.  This person I would have liked to have gotten to know better made a mistake, so I held a grudge for many years, and that was the end of any chance for our friendship to get anywhere.  I helped heal both of our emotional wounds, but the end result wasn’t exactly what I wanted it to be.  Don’t get your hopes up. Just pray, forgive, and pray… in that order. ;)[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

I Need a Prayer Answered – Please Help Me

[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]Times are very rough, so I need a prayer answered.  I just recently had a cousin overdose.  This was bad enough, but now her brother fell off the wagon.  He was a recovering alcoholic and now he is right back to where he was before.  He already has numerous health problems, and I’m afraid that we’ll soon be burying him soon as well.  We have tried to contact him on numerous occasions, and he refuses to pick up his phone now.

Now there is something that makes matters much worse.  His current girlfriend is also into drugs.  I know alcohol is one thing, but I’m 90% sure she is on something else.  Here is another problem – she’s a recovering heroin addict.  Now recovering is great, but if she falls off the wagon I don’t want her actions to wind up affecting his.  Considering he is already in such a weak state of mind due to the recent loss of his sister, I’m worried that he might just fall in right after her.  It is already bad enough where they aren’t even collecting their mail.  This is something that’s right outside their door.

I really would like some prayers from all of you.  It has been a really troubling time, and I’m praying that things get better.  If they don’t, I have to accept that it is part of God’s plan regardless of how painful it may be for me.  So I ask this community, the Christian community for your prayers.  It doesn’t have to be much.  Any prayers will definitely help.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]

The Prayer I Need Answered

God, I ask you today that you lead my cousin back to the right path.  He doesn’t have faith in you like I do, but I still hope that he witnesses your wisdom and glory.  He’s had it very rough, and I hope that he finds hope and strength in you.  Please be with him and his family in this incredibly dark time.  Amen.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_text]
