How to Pray the Rosary

I wish to tell all of you the proper way of how to pray the rosary, even though I’m sure most of you know it already. 🙂

You begin with your hand on the Crucifix:

The Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father
and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit
Amen.

Our Father (Lord’s Prayer)

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Continue to move your hand to the first smaller bead and recite:

Hail Mary

 Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Say a Hail Mary for the next two smaller beads on the rosary as well. These three stand for faith, hope, and charity.  Another large bead is next:

 Glory Be to the Father

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,Both now and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

After the Glory Be to the Father the decades begin.  This consists of five sets of ten smaller beads (Hail Mary) separated by a larger bead (Our Father / Glory Be to the Father).  For each decade, begin by announcing the mystery, the Our Father on the first large bead, followed by the Hail Mary on each of the smaller beads, closing with the Glory Be to the Father.  You may also recite another prayer at the end of the decade:

The Fatima Prayer

O My Jesus, Forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven especially those most in need of Thy mercy.

After finishing all the decades on the rosary it concludes with one more prayer then the Sign of the Cross.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ last=”no” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]How to Pray the Rosary[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”2_3″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” hover_type=”none” link=”” border_position=”all” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ animation_offset=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]

Salve Regina

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To you we cry, the children of Eve;
to you we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this land of exile.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate,
your eyes of mercy toward us;
lead us home at the end
and show us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus:
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Amen.

That is end of this episode’s ‘How to Pray the Rosary.’  😉  I hope it helped.

God bless.

I know I’ve said this a few times, but don’t be afraid to post something here or our Facebook/Twitter page.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
